A Prayer For Love
/This week I give you a prayer. A prayer for love. A prayer for all of us. A prayer from my heart to yours.
This week I give you a prayer. A prayer for love. A prayer for all of us. A prayer from my heart to yours.
Steena Marie Brown’s journey has gone from good-little-girl to Sexual Empowerment Coach for women and their men. This required a deep release of fear, shame, perfectionism, and self-sabotaging patterns. Training to become a birth doula...and her healing path through marriage, motherhood, and entrepreneurship...taught Steena the art of sacred, aligned, sexy success on her own terms which she now uses in her work with her husband, Movement Specialist, Adam Brown. Her unique blend of deep energy alchemy and soul work awakens women to their inner V-Power (that’s V for vagina, voice, and visibility) as they shift out of victimhood and live as fully embodied women - transforming their lives, relationships, and work.
How Steena went from a very good girl, to learning how to fully embracing her deviant, bad boy energy.
Steena shares her fantasy of turning a bad boy, good.
Steena defines sexuality as who you are and how you relate to others. So it literally comes into every relationship
Steena’s book “Worship Her”
Perfectionism can safely play a role in some areas of our life, and not in others.
Learning how to choose your priorities and being integrity with yourself
Steena explains the middle ground between good and bad.
I am, is a fully embodied statement and ownership of who you are.
V-Power - vagina, voice and visibility - can help us shift how we speak our truth and show up in the world.
When you’re actually in power, sex doesn’t have to necessarily be separate from your business.
The process of self-massage
“We all have a different kind of perfectionism.”
“I find that there is so much stigma around sexually pleasuring ourselves that most women can barely give themselves a platonic massage."
“Tuning into this deep power in our vagina and in the sacral space, we find that there is this deep well of confidence and magnetism and allure and just this magic that we each have.”
“We have to take care of ourselves first and then we can start moving into action that will put out this power."
“We’ve been in this really intense birth process, and it’s time to expand and go out in the world and really start to serve even more.”
Ever wonder why you feel so physically drained after having a hard conversation? I mean, it's not like you are running a marathon for that time, right? Ever wonder why you have a tendency to get super negative or down when you are really tired?? We are energetic beings and our energy is all connected - physically, emotionally and spiritually. Listen to this episode for ways to protect that energy as you move through life each and every day.

We've been conditioned to believe that our value is in how we look and that it’s our currency in this culture
All of our time, all of our energy, and often our money goes into the way that we look, the size of our body, what are other people think of us, how we present ourselves to the male gaze. It takes away from knowing who we really are.
Diet culture, and why it doesn’t work!
Summer shares her struggles of pivoting from weightloss coach to body image coach.
We are wired to want to avoid emotional discomfort as humans beings.
We’ve been a victim of this system of oppression [how we look being our currency], and it’s okay to be angry.
Starting the process of learning to love yourself
Get rid of everything that doesn’t make you feel good, and then learn how to speak to yourself more compassionately.
When you get to a point where you’re not always thinking about your body, you start to find time to do other things that you’ve always dreamt of doing.
Accept all of who you are, and nurture the spots that are tender and need love.
“What I found was that the stronger I was with my voice, the stronger I was with my convictions, the more praise I received, and the more followers I received.”
"I'd rather be somebody's cotton candy ice cream than everybody's vanilla."
“It's like learning a new language. So the metaphor that I like to use just to give people a good solid idea of how hard this process is that it's like trying to learn let's say german in the United States while everyone around you is speaking english. It's hard because everyone around you is still speaking the language of diet culture, everyone around you is still performing the behavior of diet culture.”
“Immerse yourself in body positive communities."
“When you start to deprogram all the limitations that have been put on you, you start to really know who you are and have more space in your mind, you realize that you are so capable of powerful and incredible things and you’re capable of changing other people's lives.”
“Any time we step outside our comfort zone we're going to hear the voice of our inner critic.”
“Laughter and sarcasm are such a good form of therapy.”
What are you devoted to? How do your actions, thoughts and words reflect your devotion? Is it important to be devoted to ourselves? This is real talk on devotion and how what we think we are devoted to might not be what we are actually devoted to!

Elizabeth shares what her inner voice is telling her to do
“Let’s liberate ourselves from the mindsets, from the belief systems, from the programming and conditioning, and the systems of our culture that have us feeling not free or not worthy or like we don't belong or that we're not capable or that we're not good enough.”
“Sensuality is an absolute epic and innate bridge into aliveness”
“We're all a work of art. There's something beautiful about everyone.”
“It's about untaming yourself because you've been tamed by everyone else's rules.”
“The mind judges. The mind is constantly evaluating and placing value on things, but the body is discerning. The body knows.”

Ophelia’s Place began out of a mother’s desperation to provide the treatment and care her children so desperately needed. Through an ad in the local paper and a billboard downtown, an immense need was identified in the community for those seeking support and resources for eating disorders. After days spent lobbying for mental health parity, months putting together workshops and organizing conferences, and years establishing a treatment and business model that was effective and sustainable; a mother’s desperation was transformed. What started as a crisis center grew into a comprehensive care center offering support, treatment, education, and a safe community for anyone affected by eating disorders, disordered eating, or body image.
Circles of Change is a movement created by Ophelia's Place with three intentions in mind:
To change the culture and conversation surrounding health, beauty, and body image.
A creative way to provide long-term sustainability for Ophelia's Place.
A way to collaborate with like-minded, mission-driven organizations to support a cause.

Reflecting on the most important lesson I learned this summer helped me realize how important it is to give ourselves forgiveness when we make mistakes or fail. The learning and wisdom can only come once the forgiveness has been given. I'm also talking about self-care non-negotiables and why we need them.
